RollingOn at the Providence Ministries Homeless Shelter in Whitfield County, GA

Located close to the Georgia-Tennessee border, the Providence Ministries Homeless Shelter serves men, women, and children experiencing homelessness across its two facilities in Dalton, GA. Located in Whitfield County, Dalton is a rural community in the Northern part of Georgia. At just under $20,000 a year, Whitfield County has a much lower per capita income than the national average of about $31,000 annually. This is similar to Tift County in Southern Georgia where RollingOn has served people experiencing rural homelessness in the past. 1 in 4 children live under the poverty line, making children in Whitfield County a group especially at risk of facing homelessness. RollingOn has partnered with the Providence Ministries Homeless Shelter, seeking to fight the rural homelessness epidemic in Georgia. We hope that our donation of rolling suitcases containing new socks and shoes will make an impact on people experiencing homelessness in rural communities across North Georgia and parts of Tennessee, fulfilling our organization’s mission to improve foot health and physical mobility among homeless groups, as well as helping them better protect their important belongings.
